Abstract
The Abisso del Vento
was for Sicilian speleology a very important cave, being the first
complex cave we had to compare with.
That fact permitted
to understand the correct approach to a cave from a both explorative
and performative point of view.
Our purpose in this
paper is to examine the whole explorative and topographical work made
till now.
In fact the
explorations made in Abisso del Vento, from its discovery by
speleological group C.A.I. Cefalù in 1972, to the various research
fieldtrips articulated in followinf phases are described in the present
paper.
The first discovery
took place in 1974 and the most ones took place in 1975 and 1983, up to
the lasted ones in 1985.
Besides the map of
main branches explored in the cave is shown.
